Loosely based on the compositions of Piet Mondrian, The PM Project presented three works which shared the same compositional elements but were made from different materials. The three resulting works explored the architectural presence of the art object in the gallery environment. Mondrian’s ‘Composition en Blanc et Noir II’ (Composition in White and Black II) 1930 was used as a starting point to create new work, exploring the link between the legacy of twentieth century abstract painting and contemporary approaches.
